Exclamation Durango Front Bumper Issue

Today I went to the local dealer in the Middle East to find out that all Durangos that they have have the same front bumper issue not fitting flush with the front headlamps, as in this video.

Have you guys found a way to fix this issue or you just live with it?

That is pathetic. Find another Dodge service center.. Sound like your dealer is saying..."Sorry you bought a piece of crap, you'll have to live with it." Your complaints are not unreasonable at any price range of vehicle.

i commented on that video too, but ill add my thoughts here as well

the loose bumpers seem to me like something that happened during shipping the vehicle, not really dodges fault since they use another company to make deliveries to their dealerships, however the dealership should have checked for and fixed those issues PRIOR to putting the truck on the lot for sale. you need to find yourself a dealership that cares about its customers and is willing to earn your business. Also if you make friends w/ the service manager (they tend to be around for a while unlike salesmen who jump seem to jump around alot) they will often be much more willing to help you out with any issues that may come up.

Mine was like that till I hit somebody in the rear and they replaced the bumper, now it is fine. I would not recommend that as a fix though......My friends crew is the same way, I should him about a month ago and he was not happy.

A) Crappy dealer

B) Tighten the bumper cover attachment clips and push them both in at the same time

C) Sounds like it was in a small accident in the drivers front side which skewed it all with the issues in the front corner/bumper cover and the opposite rear cover. Maybe coming off the transport, etc. Who knows. Proving it will be tough. Should have been more observant when buying it initially. Dealers won't tell you even if they know. They will look you in the eye and lie to your face.

D) Plastic covers over bumpers are the norm now, still sux.

E) They fixed the mirror, as they should have, thus get over it. Cheap shot to bring it up again albeit I understand the quantity of issues all adds up.

F) NEVER buy the first year production of any model. Lesson learned.

G) You mentioned the price in your video. $33k is basically entry level for an SUV of that size, even if you don't feel like it. Again, still sux, and I agree you should expect bettter, just saying.

I watched this video prior to picking up my 2012 crew in march. Sure enough, the bumper was sticking out more on the driver's side then the passenger side (directly under the headlamp assembly). I gave the bumper a good "push" back with the palm of my hand, heard a click and it stayed in position (did not pop back).... no issues since.

I don't have any of these issues with my 2011 R/T. The front bumper issue intrigues me. If all the ones they have on the lot have this issue, maybe it is something they are doing there. It looks like the front facia is stressed between those two points enough that it is pulling out of a clip. I am curious if the screws they use to attach the license plate holder could cause this, maybe by being too long. It is a longshot, but have you tried removing the license plate holder and then see if you can get both sides pushed in flush? You might try that....good luck!
