DVD-Audio playback issues.
I have the 730 RHR radio which plays DVD-Audio discs and am having some playback problems.
Let me start by clarifying that I'm not playing a DVD-Video disc with just the audio while driving. These are commercial music albums in high resolution, high bit rate format for studio master quality sound. This is one of the features that exited me about buying the Durango in the first place as I have many of these discs in my collection.
First I noticed that every 30 seconds or so the audio would stutter once and continue playing. The dealer duplicated the issue but said that there was nothing they could do as it would take a firmware update to fix. That was a couple months ago. Fast forward to last weekend and I was using the Durango to do some errands. While playing a DVD-A disc, the audio just went mute. All audio was muted as well even though all other functions were apparently working.
To fix this, the Durango had to be shut off and the radio had to power down completely. After starting it up again all was fine except the stutter was still there.
Yesterday, I did some errands again, brought a couple of DVD-A discs with me and after a few minutes noticed that the stuttering was gone. I was thrilled to hear the DVD-A disc playing perfectly until finally, another issue popped up! This time the DVD-A disc stopped playing and the player app froze up. I switched discs but the player just sat there trying to read the disc and never could. Other functions such as HDD and AM/FM played fine. Again a complete shut down of the Durango was the only thing fixed of the problem.
Anyone else even playing these discs in the Durango? What issues if any are you noticing?

Second that - I play everything through bluetooth from the iPhone or Sat radio. I have had problems with storing songs on the HDD - the songs are truncated at the end and occasionally skip around, not sure if this is related but maybe a firmware update would fix...?
I have no issues with truncated songs on the HDD either loaded by CD or USB. All load and play perfectly.

Yea, I think we know what the issue is for you, and what our response was we don't use audio DVD's because there are many more options that are easier to use and I think you will be hard pressed to find anybody that will be using them.
It might not be the unit itself it may be the disc your putting in it. Maybe the DVD-A's are not compatible with the 730 unit.maybe they limited it to CD, CD+R, CD-R, and CD RW. for music.

DVD-A discs are compatible, as stated in the manual. If they weren't they wouldn't play at all! All my discs are in excellent condition and all I've tried have exhibited issues.
What bit-rate are your MP3s? All mine are 320Kb/s I wonder if that has something to do with it?
Most are directly loaded from CD. I only loaded a few as a test by USB and I don't know the bitrates offhand. I also always rip my mp3s at the best quality possible but the only one I can remember came from an unknown source and may be only 128k.
