I've heard the 2011 models, at least on the Cherokee had a feature to remotely roll down the windows by the keyfob but they removed it for 2012. Anybody had any luck re-activating this feature at the dealer using the starscan tool?
dont think it will work with the new software, but if you decide to go with an aftermarket alarm alot of them have that feature...i personally do not like the hack jobs of aftermarket alarms though

being an 12+ installation professional aftermarket alarms are NOT hacks when installed correctly. Do you get hack guys that are careless, yes but you also get that in any profession. The D (and most new chryslers) are some of the easiest vehicles on the market to install an alarm into. Not a single wire needs to be cut or spliced! It can all be done via 1 "t-harness".
Who do you think does it if you buy it at the dealer... they sub it out 99% of the time to a shop.

Cfusion,
Too many people bringing their vehicle in for service due to inadvertently rolling their windows down and thinking it was a defect, is what I suspect why it was discontinued.

Yes, I know the reason why it's not on the 2012 but I doubt they would change the part to delete it. Usually everything is in the StarScan menu and can be re-enabled. At least this is what I am hoping. When I bought my 2010 Tundra it did not come with an alarm because it was not the top of the line. Come to find out it was disabled in the StarScan menu. I talked the dealer into loading the menu and we stepped through the options an bingo there it was. We enabled it and I had the alarm. I am hoping its the same on the durango. We need a StarScan tech to verify it.
