Welcome! +35 is spot on offset. Anything less will be a push, however, I happen to like a little more width. With a 285 you could go +30 though and push it out too the edge.

Welcome! Shopping for the DD was just as fun as finally owning one. There are some good thread here to show you what others paid and current incentives (I found a dealer demo and got it at a steal!).

DJ,
Any insight on the max offset before it starts to look ridiculous?

I would say the minimum would be +30. I personally want a little poke with my wheels, so I'm gonna go with a +30 on a 9.5" wheel. But most 22's wheels are between +13-18 offset which is too low and will stick out too far for my taste. Those KMC's you want seem to only come in a +12 offset for size 22". But maybe they can be found in a +30-40. Not sure. I've only seen the +12.

To give you an idea, this wheel sticks out almost 3/4" more than it would if it were a +30 offset. Check this vid. This guy seems to have them in the +12 offset. Doesn't look that great IMO. At 1:04, you'll see the wheels are sticking out at least an inch past the fender:

Dj Hellfire:

Thanks for the info. I actually kinda like that slightly protruded look. I'm not sure I completely understand offsets though. You're saying the rims in the video above are a +12mm offset and they clearly stick out of the fender. Wouldn't the +30mm offset protrude even further?

P.S. just checked the kmc website and the 22" x 9.5" size comes in a +12 and +35 offset.

Higher the offset, the further the wheel will set in the wheel well, the lower the offset the further it will stick out. Know the stock offset on any car in order to understand how far, either way the wheel will move. While offset us usually measured in millimeters, you also have too take in affect the tire and rim width.
