Am I the first...with AFE's new intake?
Got it yesterday. Why I like it...
-AFE fan for a while
-4" Intake tube (#1 reason)
-Dry Filter
Fitment 8 out of 10
Quality 9 out of 10
Performance 10 out of 10
Its definitely a finicky unit to install. Overall I'm very pleased and will be selling my MOPAR intake.
* Disregard the missing stock scoop, it's in my attic and I ran out of time on lunch. It's functional and uses the stock scoop to direct non-engine exposed air to the inlet on the bottom of the AFE housing.

Do you feel any difference? Realistically its not going to make the D a rocket, but a little more air does help a little. What about sound? I was thinking about the Volant, but the filter is a PITA at times since i have had it in my previous vehicles. Looks great man!!!!
If you don't mind my asking, which Volant filter are you referring to and what problem did you have with it? I had the standard oiled filter in my GMC truck and liked it. I'm considering getting the PowerCore for the D, though.
Where did you purchase your AFE intake from? I had it on back order with Autoanything for a month before canceling the order.

I had this kit with my 04 F-150. I had to clean the filter every couple months or so, which meant using detergent, soaking, cleaning, drying applying oil and letting it wick through the filter. It wasn't the end of the world, but took a day for that process. Don't get me wrong, it sounded great and looked great in the engine bay. The advantage was i had the air scoop that brought in cooler air from under the bumper.

On that note, has anyone had any experience with the PowerCore filter?
