2014 Durango Refresh?
I've been doing quite a bit of googling, but am still a bit confused as to the upcoming "2014 refreshes" of the Durango (and others on the same platform). I believe i've read almost every type of possibility from a spring refresh to the Durango being discontinued after the current 2013 model year.
I think though, the current "conventional wisdom" is something like this:
1) Jeep Grand Cherokee 2014 refresh is going to be available early in 2013.
2) Dodge Durango 2014 refresh is going to be available in the Spring of 2013
3) Jeep Grand Wagoneer to be availble late in 2013 or early 2014, either as a 2014 or possibly as a 2015 model.
Is that about right? Or is the conventional wisdom around here something different?
I've read that the durango refresh would (most notably) include the licensed 8 speed transmission (or possibly they are now building it themselves?), updated navigation / electronics, and tweaked exterior styling.
I've read conflicting things about the Grand Wagoneer and its relationship to the Durango...whether it will be available in addition to the Durango, or that the Durango will be discontinued once the Wagoneer becomes available.
Anyway...am I missing anything?

JoeyD,
It looks like you've done a lot of research on the upcoming models. However at this time I am unable to confirm your inquiries, as we have not received an official statement regarding the 2013-2014 year models.
Sorry I couldn't provide more assistance. Keep in touch with a Dodge dealer for the most up to date information.
Thanks, Katie.
I hope they start publishing info soon...I'm presently trying to decide between a '13 Acadia and what would be a '14 Durango....and the '13 acadias will be out in a couple months. Not sure how long I'll be able to wait for the info on the '14 Durango to come out while the '13 Acadias are on the lot.

At the speed that Dodge/Chrysler start getting any info out about new cars you won't hear anything until after orders have already begun to be taken. Worst in the industry to release advertisement or info of new/updated cars.
Thanks, Katie.

Sorry JoeyD,
We continue to be appreciative of your enthusiasm for the 2014 Durango. However, in order to avoid frustration, we reserve information regarding new product details until a formal introduction can be made, and product details and availability can be assured.
As I previously mentioned you can continue to monitor our authorized information outlets for the most reliable information regarding the new 2013 models and the forthcoming vehicle models. They can review your personal requirements vs. the features of various other vehicles and assist in the selection of your ideal vehicle.
When I am advised of an official statement when information may be provided on the 2014 year model, I'll be sure to let you know!
The current Durango is near perfect. I would get the license plate moved out of the tailgate, and on to the rear bumper were it belongs, and get some kind of chrome bumper option. Such a great "truck" hope it's taking a bunch of buisness from Ford, as I dislike the new Explorer (to put in mildly) MPJ
No worries! I wasn't expecting any official information...just wanted to know if I was missing or misunderstood any of the "common rumors" circulating about the next gen Durango.
No car is without its flaws or at least a different preference:
The largest drawback for me is that I would personally prefer more space behind the third row (to get in the same ballpark as the GM Lambda vehicles.)
Also, while there are second row captains chairs...they currently do not adjust fore and aft to supply the best possible comfort for 2nd and 3rd row passengers. GM also has this nailed.
With the RWD bias, the Durango has the drivability edge (vs the FWD biased lambdas). The durango (especially the '14, but even current models) have the overall technology / creature comforts edge.
The biggest plus (I hope) for the '14 durango is the drive-train. I'm hoping for great things with the Pentastar V6 mated to the 8 speed transmission in terms of responsiveness. The current transmissions for both the lambdas and the V6 durango both leave something to be desired.
Looks like I will have to wait for both vehicles to come out and test drive each.
