Default 2011 Durango Crew tires

My 2011 Durango came with Michelin tires. At 15,000 miles I need new tires already. Anyone have recommendations for tires that will hopefully last longer than 15k miles? I do mostly city driving and live in PA. I do tow a 20' bass boat on the weekends as weel. Mostly to local lakes and NY lakes maybe 5-6 times a year.

Triton,

No matter what tires you choose make sure they check the alignment when you get them. If the alignment is not off any tire should last much longer than 15,000 miles.

I had the tires rotated at 5,000 & 10,000 miles. They wore even so I don't think it's the alignment.

I agree with Chris. Something is fishy. The Michelins on this car are rated much higher than that. If you go to a reputable Michelin dealer for tires you might even be able to get some type of credit if he can inspect the tires and negotiate with his rep.

I asked at the dealer and they said there was nothing they could do. I asked about pro rating the tires or some kind of a discount. All they told me was they are not recommneding the Michelin's when people come in for new tires. I thought this was far too early for these to wear out too. I was told the AWD's are harder on tires.

The tire warranty goes through the manufacturer of the tire. I would suggest you contact Michelin directly at 800-847-3435 and see if they are willing to give you any type of help.

I didn't say go to the dealer ;-) Go to a reputable tire dealer that has a real relationship with Michelin. They can help you with any possible pro-rating from Michelin. Dealers don't really do tires, or much care about them -- except for the profit in selling them. What they told you was pretty bogus anyway. A good tire shop will help you with the return and get you in a new set of shoes at a better price.

The place where you bought the vehicle, yeah, I call that the "Stealership" take your ride somewhere else for maintenance. The best shop is one close to home or work and one where the techs don't turn over every six months, think mom and pop. I'm lucky where I'm at, have one right down the street, well under two miles.

Even a national tire chain or Sears would probably try to help you work through the MFG for any pro-rate.
