There is no better alternative than reading the manual.

The engine block heater cord is located:
• 3.6L Engine – coiled and strapped to the engine oil
dipstick tube.
• 5.7L Engine – bundled and fastened to the injector
harness.
The engine block heater must be plugged in at least one
hour to have an adequate warming effect on the coolant.

Traceis3,

I'd have to agree with coldsteel. The information that was provided can be located in the Owner's Manual on page 416 of the Second Edition, under "Starting and Operating" .

I hope you were able to locate your vehicle's block heater. PM me if there is any additional inquiries you have.

You didn't get an owner's manual or you haven't found your owner's manual?

Mine happened to be hidden in that little shelf at the top of the glove compartment where nobody would ever think to look. In my case, I went back to the dealer for a copy of the owner's manual and that is when they pointed out the elusive shelf to me. I felt stupid for a minute (which is a frequent occurrence for me ), but after looking at the forums, realized that this very same thing happens to many new Dodge Durango owners.

Take a look. You just might be pleasantly surprised. I was!
