Default TSB Info

I came across this the other day doing some searching. As we all know, the new D's are the on the same platform as the Grand Cherokee so on a hunch I searched for TSB info for the GC. I found this site:

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_tsb.htm

These are FULL printout TSBs for Jeeps, but if you open them up, you will see that the Durango is included on the list of affected vehicles. Worth a read if you're having problems.

Enjoy!

No problem. They used to have resources for the LX platform too, but it has seemed to disappear. Handing the service manager a TSB always helps and lets them know you did some research and you're not going the buy the whole "its supposed to do that" line.

I didn't have to use them much with my Magnum, but when I did, the dealer appreciated it.

Hey Mac thanks for sharing. I need to go to the dealer and make sure they check my D for these.

You're welcome! Be careful just handing them a TSB and saying to fix it. They still have to confirm that the vehicle does exhibit the problem described in the TSB. Just be sure the problem is replicate-able or you can show them that there is a problem.

Thumbs down

It amazes me that there can be that many TSB's for a new vehicle. I read through these and this forum and I cant believe the number of issues associated with the new Durango's. I wonder how Dodge can expect a person, who has done a bit of reading and research, to drop 50K on a vehicle that is so riddled with issues. There seems to be issues with ever aspect of the vehicle; there are problems with driveability, engine, electronics, body, interior and so on. Does anyone at Dodge QC these things before they hit the assembly line or do they just start making them and hope for the best? I think that the amount of issues people are having with these vehicles is unacceptable and needs to be addressed by the people at Dodge. They keep saying what a great product they are putting out but one only has to do some light reading in this forum to discover otherwise.
I realize that most people just drive them and dont care about all the "little issues" like squeeks and rattles and ticking, but there are some people out there that do care about what they are driving and get embarrassed when you are standing on your driveway with your neighbour listening to your brand new $50K vehicle ticking away while it is running.
But, you just explain to them that "that's the way they all are" right?
Knowing what I know now, I would and will definitely take my money elsewhere in the future.

Not exactly sure where the flames are coming from. Do you know how many thousands of parts and sub-assemblies from hundreds of suppliers are involved in manufacturing? Every individual vehicle is not identical and they do not all exhibit all of the symptoms of the TSBs. QA/QC only gets a company so far. There will ALWAYS be TSBs.

If you actually read the text of the TSBs, some affect less than 1000 units. How many have YOU actually been affected by?

I have had many different brands of automobiles and all have a huge list of TSB's. No car is close to being perfect not even Toyota as reliable as they are. I had a Land Rover cost me about 65K 4 years ago it was in the shop once every 2 months for different issues mostly electrical. The D is no exception to the fact that it will have issues. But for the money I still think it's a great vehicle. The worst car I ever had was the Volvo XC90 by far. Anyways enjoy what you purchased.

Go drop 70K+ on a BMW and then tell me who has more TSBs, and how embarrassed you feel.....

It's the nature of this business. TSBs are not recalls, they are just bulletins to help dealers diagnose potential problems.
