Default Resonator removed

Anyone that has removed their resonators, do you have any droning? I'm assuming those muffler looking things connected to the tips are the resonators.

mufflex offers a bolt on kit... i've heard a few clips and wasnt too impressed, i'd advise saving up and buying a catback!

Save yourself some cash and buy a catback. I have the mufflex kit on my R/T and I'm not thrilled with it. Its loud so if you're looking for that, go for it, but be prepared for major DRONE! If you think a catback drones, you should hear what this reso delete does! Its worse!

I wish I would have saved that money, I would be 300 closer to the Magnaflow kit.

No problem. I see you have the V6 so it might not be as annoying, but at least you have some info on it.

Cool

Mac - besides the increased noise, any "performance increase" noticed? Removing resonators should have little to no effect since the gas volume is so low at the end of the pipes, but any info is at least interesting. Too bad so many equate more noise with more performance.....

You're assumption is correct. I didn't see any performance increase nor MPG. When I put a CAI on the D, I got some better throttle response and MPG.

A catback will give you some more performance gains, but not as much as you're going to think. These things come alive when they're tuned. Throw some long tube headers, some high flow cats and a tune and you're really going to feel a difference. Tuning is coming, just not sure when. Diablosport has it on their list. They've been working on the 2012 Ram right now.
