Wow, thanks for reminding me, I forgot I owed you guys some feedback on these.

I got these installed (sorry, no pics - I suck). The can that the factory lights come in is easy to remove, 1 screw that turn the can, and the entire thing comes out easily. You can disassemble the light housing, and the harness that the new Halo's comes with (metal/glass light fixture with a metal bracket) easily lines up with the holes and screws in. I initially was going to use all the wiring and switches that blinglights provides, but before placing the switch inside the cabin, I wanted to see how the lights looked. The halo setting was so dim, that during daylight (right before the sun went down) I couldn't tell they were on. The normal fog light (my main reason for getting them) was bright in the daytime. At night, it's so bright I can drive with just the fog lights on (and I do). Because of this, I simply hardwired the lights into the factory switch and didn't use any of the blinglights wiring (I really didn't want to have to do any drilling, and waterproofing into the cabin).

Bottom line, if you want a really bright fog/driving light and these are 55W, they are perfect. The color of the lights is closer to the factory fog lights, but because they are so bright, and I do have them angled down, when I drive with them at night, I either get high beamed, or people pull over and get out of my way!!!!

Sounds like some good info. If the new housings are able to be disassembled (glass separating from the metal housing) and the halos are not bright enough, why not get a set of brighter halos? I know this kills the whole package idea and could get expensive.

You could also get a hold of the company and ask what gives. Judging by the images on their site, it should show up decent in daylight.

Absolutely, with all the wind today it's reminiscent of Sandy

If I only had on the fog lights, they were visible. Once the headlights were on, you didn't know the halos were there. They really didn't project the light far. I wasn't a huge fan of the halos anyway, really wanted the brighter fog lights, so it didn't matter to me that I couldn't see them.

You're right, the images on the site, and even on the package the lights came in are misleading, but I hadn't planned on using the halos when I ordered them, so it was a no biggie for me.

Default Not THAT easy

I bought the Blinglights after seeing this thread. I wanted to make a couple of comments about them.

1. They are well made. Glass lens, and thick metal case.
2. They come with their own wire harness and switch. So you could easily hook up with wires under the hood, but you'd need to cut a hole in your dash to mount the switch. I will be splicing the lights into the factory wiring so I can use the factory switch.
3. The halo effect is pretty weak, though the fogs themselves seem very bright. (I hooked them up directly to the battery to make sure they worked before I started anything.
4. Like Gizmo said, the factory fogs do come out very easily. However I could not find any combination of parts which would allow me to simply mount and align the new Bling bracket in the factory can, if I wanted the new light to sit in the same place as the factory fog did in the bumper. I had to create a spacer out of a piece of wood about a 1/2 inch thick that I put a few coats of paint on to sit in the factory can. I supplied a couple of screws to attach my spacer to the factory can, then I mounted my bling light bracket to piece of wood. My front to back spacing of the light in the bumper is now perfect, but I'm not sure about the aim of the lights. I haven't completed splicing in the wiring yet, so I can't comment on the overall result. I think I might have an issue with how the lights are aimed. (Which might mean I have to remove the assembly and change where I mounted the bracket to my wood spacer.

So in summary, Bling seems like a good option for guys looking for more light out of the fogs, but plan on doing some work to get them mounted and/or connected. Definitely not plug and play.
