Default Squeal/ whistle noise under when engine on..

My wife has told me many times about our 2012 RT making a whistle or squealing noise when she drives it. Never happened when I drove it....until last week. This started happening around 7000 miles on the odo.

She was backing up the driveway when I first heard it from the garage. It sounded like a high pitched squeal. A few days later, I was waiting for her to come out of the store when the sound happened again. Sound is coming from the driver side, a sort of "eeeeeweeeeewooooop". It starts out very short, then it comes back and gets longer.

I am wondering if it is related to the AC...I am not hearing the compressor cycling. I have recently started experiencing the auto climate control getting cold on the driver side and hot on the passenger side when both are set for the same temp. An expansion valve maybe?

I searched many different words but came up empty handed. Any insight would be appreciated. I am bringing it in Friday for oil change and AC sun sensor check. Would be nice to have another clue.

The sound you are describing usually is a result of a loose or weak belt, which may become louder as the car is running. Open the hood and try to locate the sound. Ask the dealer to check all your belts.

No, it isnt belt squeal. It really sounds like the sort of hi pitch noise when letting air out of a balloon. I cant say for sure it is the AC, but the lines do run into the truck around the driver side area.....the exact area the noise is heard both inside and out.

Had it for about 7 or 8 months after I bought my R/T, but it went away. Havent heard it in about 4 months. Had it in to two different dealerships a total of 5 times, and of course they could never replicate the sound. I went on drives with two different techs, but the sound didnt happen. Usually it was pretty consistent between 30 and 40mph. I even had video with the sound, but they couldnt pinpoint it anywhere.

Yeah, it is crazy how inconsistent it is....I am thinking AC since I also am having issues with the temp control causing hot air on pass side and cold air on driver side when both are set for the same temp. Only other thing in the general are is the brake booster, but brakes are fine. My wife says she is now hearing it while driving, so it has progressed in its frequency and occurrence.
