Question gonna pull the trigger

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a new r/t. Going with the silver blacktop package. One big question I have now is can you get the second row captain chairs without a center consul? I have kid number 2 on the way and that would take care of both middle seats without a way into the third row if we had to take more people with us. And if anyone has a picture my wife and I would highly appreciate it if you could post it up, the one we test drove at the dealer did not have captain chairs.

Aslo, diving into the performance aspect of the rt, what is out for it now that it's been out for a few years? I know the tuners are coming out now but what else? Any updates for rear gearing? Headers? Throttle body? Does the Sonnax line booster trick work on the new trans? What is the factory exhaust/muffler size? Before selling off my truck my 3" Borla muffler and cutout are coming off.

Basic plan of attack once I get it home will be
- intake
- exhaust
- trinity tuner with custom tune file
- tint the tails
- tires

After that, depends what else is available. I will have my family "fun" car.

2nd Row Captain Chairs have an optional full console if you wish, but if you don't want that, the Captain Chair option has a 'mini-console' with cup holders that allows easy third row access via step-through.

imo, I wanted the capt chairs in rear, but my kids like sitting in the middle seat sometimes so the can see out the front window, so I went with the standard bench.
Plus, I find myself loading the back seat when shopping or whatever, rather than have to open the rear gate while Im in the garage. Much easier...
IF I didnt have kids, I prob would have got the capt chairs...
Again, jmo....

the problem we are running into is both kids will be in car seats for a few years still (one is 2 the other will be a new born) so we can't fold down the seats with the car seats in for access to the third row.

Having experienced a Gen 1 '00 SLT 5.9 with the 3.92 rear, I would hesitate changing the ratio from the R/T's 3.45. The SLT cruised at 2,200 rpm for 70 mph, while the R/T does 70 mph at a shade over 1,800 rpm. The O/D gear in the tranny is about the same, something like .62 to .67. Unless you're into stop light drag racing with a 5,133 lb machine, I'd leave the rear alone. BTW, I just did a round trip in my R/T from Houston to Lake Charles. 354 miles and got 18.62 mpg, at speeds around 75 to 80 mph. Speed limit for part of I-10 on the route is 75. Go on eBay and look for 2013 R/T's. Here's a link to an R/T on eBay with a photo of the Captain's chairs. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2013-...item3ccda111f9

Have you seen my truck lol? Taking a 5000lb vehicle and making it run mid to low 13sec 1/4 miles is fun to me. IMO the gearing needs a boost in performance. From the one we test drove the power feels like it's there just not as quickly as I would like it to be there and I think the 3.92's would really help wake it up without sacraficing mileage. I know in my ram going from 3.92 to 4.56 made an incredible difference in acceleration an since it made it move a 5000lb truck move easier with less gas to do so my mpgs went up. Same concept should apply here as well...... just shouldnt have to go as numerically high on the gear ratio. Again that is just my thought on it.
