Violent Shaking/Grinding and then Dies (With Video)
where are you from so I know to never go there for a new vehicle or service?
I would not have driven that 2ft after hearing that noise.... who knows what kind of internal damage has been caused from driving it in that condition.

So I got my Durango back and everything seems to be working good so far. I have had it for over almost a week and have not had any of the same problems.
The dealer pulled the transmission and replaced the torque converter and an oil pump. The did a transmission flush and replaced some seals and filters (don't have the invoice in front of me so I may be misstating info). Basically they said Chrysler looked into the problem more, and it seems this problem has happened before in other vehicles. They said the pump malfunctions intermittently which causes the torque converter to malfunction. This malfunction in turn, caused damage to the torque converter. So they ordered the replaced everything Chrysler told them to and I haven't had any problems since.
Now here are the dealers I went to . This isn't intended to bash or talk bad about a dealer, I'm just stating my opinions.
Initially I took my Durango to McPeaks Dodge (Anaheim, CA). Had it there numerous times over the last year. After being there 4 separate times for this issue, I felt like they did not take my concerns seriously. Even after opening a case with Chrysler, I felt like McPeaks just didn't really care. Maybe their hands were tied by Chrysler on what they could do, but I felt like if they would have put some pressure on Chrysler, maybe this would have been resolved sooner.
So I took my Durango to Don-A-Vee Jeep Chrysler (Placentia, CA). They were awesome from the first appointment I had.Their service advisors and shop Forman kept me informed every step of the way and I felt like they actually were on my side. Eventually the Forman took the case from my service advisor and dealt directly with Chrysler. After it being at their shop for a few days, they had a possible solution and ordered the parts. Once the parts were in stock, everything was replaced in a single day. They provided me with a rental car (V6 Charger) for over a week.
In the end, I was very happy with Don-A-Vee. I just felt like they actually wanted to get this problem fixed as much as I did. They never had the attitude of "well we can't fix nothing if it won't do it for us." They took my concerns seriously and seemed like they went out of the way to get things resolved.
So hopefully this problem is solved and I can focus on modding this beast. I have held off because I wasn't sure the outcome of all this.
Thanks to all of you who made the suggestions of the torque converter. I appreciate all your help.
