Default Honestly... Why Bother...

Diggin my '12 D R/T, but why should I bother with Moper or K&N CAI, Flowmaster exhaust, chips, etc. if there are no "real" HP gains to be made?

Don't get me wrong, I love reading about all the mods and the love you all place on your D3's...

If the mods add true "snort" and something that makes dude to the right get pissed, I am all for it... But if it is for, "look what I did" just for the shine, see ya...

Love you all BTW!!!

Thoughts, comments??? Yeah, I'm new!! Hence the emoticons...

The R/T exhaust sounds great.. but my roots are in the german performance side of cars... so I wanted a cleaner deep tone (instead of 'merica growl). That's why I went with the Magnaflow catback exhaust.

exhaust & CAI typically "delete" the quieter more serene stock sound most vehicles are designed for, that most buyers prefer. So you do it for the sound and maybe some slight increases in certain driving situations. and of course,
the looks...

the tunes/programmers typically do add quantifiable gains or at least they again change the stock ride that is designed more around MPG's and comfort than max performance

mix them all and you usually have a meaner sounding and more responsive (and faster) machine

its all a matter or preference and what you are willing to pay and sacrifice to get the ride looking, feeling and sounding how you want...

Why remodel your 1970 kitchen if the food will still taste the same?

SCREW THE KITCHEN ...I AM GETTING MODS!
Most modding is done for personal taste. The last time around on my Gen 1 I never stopped till I built a one of a kind D. This time I am taking a bit more conservative approach. I intend to install a CAI (they do help with gas mileage and a little boost in power), A Hypertech and make the engine look decent ( paint engine cover and some billet) and Thats about it.
These are great rides as they sit but they do just look at us and say customize me!

just get a foreman grill and cook in the truck (has an AC outlet...that i always forget to turn on)

better yet just tailgate your driveway..
let the neighbors remodel their kitchen...
we can remodel our trucks..(but no eating or food in mine)

I don't disagree. My Durango is pure transport so I'm leaving it completely stock. I save all the mods for the vette.
