Default Electronics shut off while driving

I am pretty sure I saw a thread on this in the past but I haven't been able to find it. I was driving down the road the other night and everything on the dash/radio turned off for a few seconds then came back on. The tach and speedometer dropped down to zero as well. It stayed running thankfully as I was in the middle of a busy intersection. Any ideas what this could be? Anyone able to link me to previous posts on this? I am glad it happened to me and not the girlfriend.

Thanks

No idea but that sure is scary. Sounds like the TIPM module. The TIPM module controls all of those items. When they fail, the auto has a default run mode so it will continue to drive. My wifes AVenger R/T the TIPM failed and she called me and said the car is running fine, headlights on and nothing else worked. They replaced the TIPM module and all was well and has been

Happened to me once around 4000? miles. Never happened again, up to some 12,000 miles now.
