Default Garmin Chrysler Navigation map update

Hey guys I hope you all had a great weekend. Quick question, either it's gone or operator error. I could have swore I seen this tread before and now I can't find it. Has anybody gotten that message yet on there Nav saying maps is outdated. I have and I had my Durango for 6 months. How did you guys update yours and how much? So far I've find $149.00 for the update.

I guess I haven't gotten the msg because I have a 2013. The Garmin site confirms what you said. $149.00 for latest update for 2011 and 2012 models. http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INT...thAmerica-Site

Thats crazy bro, I can see for a one time fee for a membership and life time updates. Buy yearly, somebody is smoking some really good stuff. And getting paid for it to.

That's why I own 2 Garmin nuvi's with Lifetime maps. The on-board nav can get you 90% of places and when I'm venturing to someplace new, we just bring along a nuvi as backup.

They're not smoking anything, just ripping us off!!! I agree the best way is to spend 100 bucks on a unit that gives you lifetime maps. At best I wouldn't update the car maps very often. Because there are plenty of new roads being built all the time, and I would really be pissed to spend $150 and not get the latest highway in my area on it. It's a scam. They think they have you and want to get as much money out of you as possible.
