Default 2011 R/T Headlight Low Beam Bulb???

Anyone figure out what bulb is in the 2011 R/T projector headlight? My passenger side is going out and is light purple now; looks like CRAP!!! I'm hoping to swap out the stock HIDs with 6-8K bulbs. Need to know the correct bulbs/ D1S or D2S??? HELP!!! Thanks!

1) Any tips for the swap out? Based on other posts I'm hoping I can just change them out using the fender access port and worse case take off the plastic edge over the light in the engine bay.

2) What kind of bulbs did everyone go with? I want a more blue-ish/purple color without sacrificing too much illumination. Thinking 6K bulbs. Thoughts? Thanks!

These are the best headlights I have ever had in a car right from the factory. I will just use factory parts when time comes

OSRAM-Sylvania is an OEM manufacturer and provider of factory HID systems; Philips is the other company. Mopar, OSRAM, and Philips (not Ebay) are where to get the D1S bulb/ballast combos.

I believe they are d1s. OEM is osram (I believe). The OEM bulbs are ok, not great, but I highly suggest staying away from aftermarket bulbs especially higher temp ones. The higher the temp the lower the light output, and aftermarket will never compete with brand name quality. personally I would look into Sylvania CBI's, it will be brighter, slightly higher temp (more blue) than our oem bulbs, and from hid planet the guys seem to rave about them. heres some jeep guys installing them

I decided to go with the 3Five 5000K HID bulbs from The Retrofit Source (TRS). These guys are the highest rated HIDs on every forum I've visited so I gave them a shot. They are a company out of Atlanta, GA and @ $75/pair I couldn't go wrong:

http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=3179

I installed these yesterday and was simply amazed at the light output and it made night driving that much more enjoyable. Like a lot of comments, I found the stock bulbs decent to good. I had no complaints. I just know that I will never replace stock with stock for the most part if I can help it. I've run three differnt sets of 6000K color temp bulbs on various cars and was partial to the purple-ish look. By recommendation of the guys at TRS, I went with 5000K temps since they said it had the best output/color over the 4300K stocks.

The illumination is unbelievable! It almost seems twice as bright as stock 4300K. I had no issues with the stock but these new bulbs are just that much better. I don't think I'll be missing the purple hue of the 6000K since I gained that much more light output with 5000K. These are a pure white with a hint of blue. I will update as time goes on....

Hope these quick pics help but I'm tired and I couldn't find a wall near me so this will have to do. I also didn't have enough patience to leave in the stock bulb to compare with the new one. I switched them out in the middle of the day so here you all go. I just know I like to see pics on on other threads. No pics is like an add on craigslist with a page long of specs and WHAT, not pic?!?!? No sale

How simple were they to change? Just the bulb or ballast too?
