Hey There, I am new to the site. My wife has a 2013 Durango Crew V6 and we are loving the car so far. She first noticed a loud whining noise at about 2500miles when shifting from P to R in the morning. Since then it has happened about 5 or 6 times but of course we cannot duplicate at the dealer. It will happen with the car cold or having been driven all day. It is loud enough that is scares you that something is really wrong. Recently she has noticed it in drive while moving but at a much lower volume and shorter duration. Any ideas or anyone having the same issue?

I believe their is several threads about this issue on this forum, possible Stall converter, other have had the same issue.

 

Have you checked the tranny fluid level?
