Default V6 muffler delete

I'm new to this forum and couldn't find anything on this topic but I went to a local muffler shop to get a magnaflow and he told me I was beter off just cutting off the stock muffler and adding a short pice of pipe and a tip. It only cost me $95 dollars and sounds great not to loud just a nice low rumble and no drone at highway speeds. I also have a airaid intake and airaid throttle body booster. Anyways just wanted to let you guys know before you drop hundreds of dollars on a full exhaust.
