Default Warranty - Power Liftgate issue

My power liftgate started having problems closing. It would shut, but wouldn't pull all the way in. So i called the dealer, told me they could fit me in 9 days later (pretty convenient for a hatch that wont close completely). Dropped it off this morning, they called me at 2 to say it was done. Apparently the module that pulls the hatch closed needed reflashed, said there was a service bulliten regarding it. Got it back now, alls good in the hood.

Thought id post in case anyone else has issues.

Glad it worked out for you! I need to get to the dealer and make sure all of my TSBs are done. Were there any pre-failure signs, like it didn't respond to the button, or anything like that prior to it not closing fully?

So in 10 years will we be ableto replace the power actuator with a normal strut and slam it home like it should be? Thats my worry.

I don't think so; there is no physical linkage between the release handle and the latch. The release handle on the liftgate just tells the computer to release the latch and push open the liftgate.

Took the Durango to the dealer yesterday to have TSB 08-005-13 (listed above) performed, because the gate did not shut completely and latch after it closed the other day. The dealer said the TSB was not for my VIN, and they could not duplicate the issue. However, I noticed the "chime" was not working when we cycled the gate open and shut, and brought this to the dealership's attention. They checked to make sure the "chime" was selected in the set up, then told me there was nothing they could do, but they would research it and give me a call when they knew something. So I have the Durango back, the gate is working, but does not "chime" when opening or closing even though it is selected in set up, and I guess the above mentioned TSB does not apply to all 2012 Durango's.

In resoponse to this

guess the above mentioned TSB does not apply to all 2012 Durango's.

Can Dodge cares tell us how to vertify this with our VIN , is there a way to do this online?
