When your initial 'free' subscription runs out, they will offer you a special offer of 6 months for $25. If they don't mention it, request that deal. Then after that, mark your calendar when your subscription runs out. Call the day before it runs out and say that you want to cancel your subscription. Mention that you like the service, but it costs a little too much.

Then you can get 5 months for $25 from then on (ask for 6 months for $25, you may get lucky with that deal). When you tell them that you want to cancel, they will mention a few offers to keep you as a customer. If the 5 months for $25 is not mentioned, you simply mention it to them. This ALWAYS works, it's well known, and will not be a surprise to the operators.

I get this with Sirius Select service, not sure the best deal that you can get with Nav. Just remember to always call a day or two before your subscription expires, or they'll automatically renew at the usual inflated prices. They will always offer a less expensive 'deal' to keep you listening.

I've been doing it for years, and it's always a fairly quick process on the phone.

I think the sound quality sucks myself... even though I like a couple of the stations, I turn it off cause it sounds like its broadcasting through a tin can compared to cds or the ipod.

Thanks all. I got the $4.99 for 3 months incentive in the mail last week. I have to sign up for a year. I don't think we have SAT Traffic in Canada. I'm fine without it anyway. Think I'll play around until August and decide then.

BTW - Love the Hair Nation nod. Nothing like Cherry Pie on the short drive home.

Call to cancel and you will get to the folks with the deals. I paid $74 per car for a year of mostly music.

No, I let mine expire. I blue tooth stream Pandora and Google Maps is way better for traffic, weather, and sports. I already pay for the services on my phone, why pay twice?

Feel like an outsider here but the sound quality is ****e on my Sirius feed. Sounds like its coming out of a soup can. Otherwise I would listen more given the content.

I have refused to listen to AM/FM since I bought my first Sirius equipped vehicle (new 2006 Ram 1500) 7 years ago. It's worth every penny in my book. I despise AM/FM commercials and DJs. I even pay an extra $4/month for internet based Sirius. I can listen on my computer or through the Siri app on my phone...anywhere.

Ditto! Considering the sound quality it's worth a lot less than they charge. And now that there's no competition, they can keep rates high for most people that don't pay attention. I too have complained and gotten it for much less. If I ever had to pay full freight I'd cancel in a second.
