My new standard oil change
#11
I may or may not do myself depending on schedule this weekend, but either way, I wanted my preferred oil and filter on hand to avoid any chance of having to settle for another oil or filter type.
But if you want pennzoil 5w-20 ultra syn, and a k&n synthetic filter - yes it will be much cheaper to shop the materials around. Cost for this setup is one of the highest around, and varies greatly. Took me 2
weeks to find a deal or special on this oil. Its almost $10 a quart in some local stores and shops..

So, I caved in today after finding this coupon for 5 quarts of Pennzoil Ultra oil and a Purolator oil filter for $40.00 at the local Pepboys. Went down there and no problems, bought two extra quarts at full price and out the door for 63 bucks.
Here is the link to the coupon if anyone cares:

I get a Chrysler coupon from my dealer about three times a year with four changes for about $70, and they use synthetic. Can't do it myself for that. They insist that I should still change it every 3k, but I go 5k. Just waiting for the next one to arrive. I was recently about 20 miles short of 3k when the change oil light came on. I suspect they forgot to reset it last time. Their normal price for one is about $40, but I won't pay that.

you are basically paying $25 for the labor at that price, so thats what you'd save doing it yourself, give or take a few dollaz..
