Default True or false?

1. The Dodge tech tells me that each of our four TPMS modules has a unique number and is coded into truck's computer. So if you go from an 18-inch wheel to a 20, the computer has to be updated, using each wheel's unique TPMS module number, to reflect the larger size wheel. Also, each TPMS module must go back on the truck in the same location it occupied before being removed. Not doing this, he says, would result in a constant low tire-pressure warning light. This all sounds logical, but so did the flat-earth theory in the 15th Century and we know how that worked out.
2. The tech said also that they would update the speedo operation to reflect the larger wheels in order to give an accurate mph read-out.

Number 2 is certainly a fact as I had to change speedo cable gears when I changed my Fairlane's 14-inchers to 15-inchers. The tech quoted me $160 to recalibrate all 4 wheels and the speedo.

So, it's up to you guys. Pick one:
1. It's all BS.
2. It's all true.
3. Half true and half false; you pick which half you want to believe.
4. It's all BS and if you do it you should just bend over and grab your ankles when you walk in there.
5. It's all true and if you do it you should just bend over and grab your ankles when you walk in there.
6. I have no idea, I just like to respond to meaningless polls to skew the results.

So you can never rotate the tires? without reprograming? sounds fishy to me. I know my 08 I can move them around and tire place replaced with aftermarket and within 3 miles it started showing correct pressure. Funny thing my wife has a 2011 Mitsubishi and when I run my 22's without sensors in them and park next to her, I can read all her pressures.

well i had 1 sensor always reporting 3-5'psi less on my front pass side and when i rotated to the rear its still reporting the same low pressure, so seems to work fine without any intervention - and they all seem accurate when i test against a handheld TP gauge...before and after rotating

also these are all new dodge tpms sensors installed when i got my 22's...Im not even sure if my wheel tech had to do anything special to program when installed, I dont believe so..

TOTAL BS!

I bought 4 sensors off ebay...put them on my 22" wheels and installed. The sensors will take a short couple mile drive to learn....but that's it.

i have a 2001 dak. i had a 4.1 gear put in, the speedo seamed ok. but the tires was a diff size than posted on the body. i went to a good trans shop. he put his computer on it and he said it showed that dak computer had been calabreated to the tires on the dak. i think the factory was out of one tire and put a diff one on and recalabrated the dak computer. cause some other cats had a diff tire size than posted on the body to. so it might be common.

As long as you use the Dodge sensors all is well.
The 13 and the 12 D's use different software for the tire sensors and only the Dodge sensors(rubber ones on ebay are Dodge) will work properly on a 13

Haha. Another " TECH" shows us what he knows. Thats a great way to get people to pay for tire rotations LOL. I'd ask him if I blew a tire and installed my spare would the TPMS sensor explode due to mis- communication with PCM igniting the Body Control Module and causing all the caliper juice to come out requiring a transmission overhaul.

I just put my 22" SRT replicas....that I had on my 13' SRT....onto my 14' SRT. The sensors are the black ones from ebay......not the oem SRT sensors mind you...as they are silver metal. they worked perfect...on the second vehicle in 10 months.
