over size tires?
Hey Guys. wife has a 2011 Crew bought to replace her 2nd gen durango. my question is what is the tallest tire i can fit without a lift kit? i tried the search but all i find is street tire info. what i want are BFG All Terrains. stock tire size is 265/60r-18 @ 30.5 height. the BFG's are 265/65r-18 @ 31.7 per the BFG spec chart. 1.2in doesnt sound like much but dont want to have them put on and rub too much. not going off road but tow snowmobiles north in the winter and the all terrains last forever and love snow. thanks
Im trying to decide between the hankook dynapro atm all terrain in stock size or the hankook i-pike winter in stock size. These factory michelins dont look like they will be worth a damn this winter.
Patience, grasshopper. It's a weekend and everyone is out driving their Durangos in the woods. :-)
I used the BFG tires on my Tahoe for the winter months, Loved them.....Never had a problem in the snow in the mountains....they grabbed like they were glued to the ground....Cant wait for snowboard season to arrive and put the AWD system to the test driving the crazy curvy West Virginia mountain roads to Snowshoe !!!

+1... That should definitely help on lock to lock clearance with a tire that tall.
I'm running 265-70R18 Nitto Terra Grapplers with a leveling kit.
i've had the All Terrains on my last 4 truck and wouldnt even consider anything else. 1.2 taller means .6 closer in any direction right? dont tire chains require some clearance? im in nh and we dont use them so i dont really know. not really looking to go bigger but this is the only size close to stock.
