Agreed the Carrier TXV's are a Biatch to braze in, The Trane, Yorks and most others use a flare equalizer.
Wash Man you are correct, but there are some replacement types that last a little longer...Heat is the enemy
I honestly believe that is why these TIPMS fail as well, too much climate change Hot, cold , extreme hot etc

Well, agreed. But that is why you have individual relays, which can be replaced. Relays WILL go bad. But if you have to replace them, they're only $50 or less. But if you fully integrate a control board, it will cost signifigantly more
Because its the same type of service and we deal with problematic issues with equipment and how some companies either choose to ignore it (and lose business) or cover at least the part cost in order to maintain "good faith" that you're not going to get stuck with a bad batch of parts.
Chrysler sticking the part cost on the customer with a known issue is very similar to how Trane had a bad batch of TXV's. They contract out all of their TXV's, and I do believe it was Danfoss who sold them a bunch of junk TXV's. So Trane dumped the contract with them, and replaced all problematic TXV's under warranty, with the customer only responsible for labor and misc parts.
Moral of the story, Chrysler should do something about this, as there has been thousands of TIPM's go bad so soon in Jeeps and Durangos and more. If they choose not to do something, then that's going to leave a lot of customers, myself included, a little spiteful that they refuse to acknowledge and own up to a common problem. And if that's how they want to handle a known issue, by just throwing their hands up and saying "Oh well. Wr had a bad batch, sorry you're out of warranty. That'll be $1200 and a 2 week wait," then that's a company I really don't want to give $40,000 to.

Had the same problems with the fuel pump not cutting off and not cutting on at times. Took truck to dealer and quoted $1400 to replace TIPM. Found a place online that repaired it for $280 including shipping.
Link?
Got ours back from the dealer today. They told us it is our wireless control module. 572.25 to replace. Haven't had them do it yet. Said that it has a short of some kind in it. Anyone hear of this?
Thanks.
Chris
Thanks.
Chris
It appears they're just doing 2011 ?
That works if they do it right. If you do this make sure to mark your TIPM so you can identify it. If you get the wrong one back you'll have massive configuration issues.
Somebody try it and let us know!
