I'm pretty sure it's an 8". My guess is that they just stuck it in there with little thought to porting or tuning for best response.

Its just a dvc 8" sub, paper cone. Poor quality. If youre serious, instead of poly fill or whatever, just upgrade the sub already. Theres no easy fix, otherwise itd have been mentioned already
