Default I don't mind them making a profit, but . . . .

... I think Dodge is carrying it waaaaay too far on the pricing of this item http://tinyurl.com/l54z8pn.
These are snap-rivets used to hold on trim pieces. For those of you who've swapped out your grille and such you need several of these because these are one-time use items. After you get them out they are essentially destroyed.
Any way, if you do the math on these things they're about 68 cents each after adding in shipping etc.. My local Dodge guy wanted . . .wait . . . wait . . . wait for it . . . $4.95 apiece. Ugh.
I passed, but I am going to have to order running boards ((because none of the local shops want to fool with the lower cladding on my 2012 Crew)) from these guys and let them do the install, and it is going to be obscenely expensive. I just gotta get my mind right before I bend over and take it like a man. Ugh.

Have you checked AutoZone and/or similar stores? I know they stock the single piece push fasteners. Don't know that they'd have the pieces you need. That's an obscene amount of money for just a plastic fastener!

Yeah, I think Mopar charges them like 3 bucks each. It's insane. Thanks for the link, i'll pass it along.

I know this is off topic, but I've been looking to change my grill. Where did you find replacements?

I found it on eBay, used. I paid $130 plus $30 for shipping. The dealer was asking like $350 or so for a new one. The used one has a small crack on the lower black apron of the grille that slips under the bumper cover and is not visible. I'll drill a small hole at the head of the crack to prevent it from expanding and then epoxy some cross strips on the back for further insurance.

For my eBay search I used "2012 dodge durango OEM grille" Make sure you include the term OEM on whatever search you use or else you get 5,000 hits for every piece of crap you can imagine.

I prefer the chrome Citadel version to the stock black one on my Crew. Plus, the Citadel unit has the red striped Dodge name whereas the Crew didn't. My orignal intent was to swap out only the four inserts but after looking at how the inserts go in I'm thinking of simply swapping the whole grille after I get it fixed.
I haven't done the swap yet as as I looking for fasteners before I tore into it. Maybe this weekend.

I found an OEM-equivalent rivet at AutoZone. I paid $4.99 for a pack of 15. The riviets are made by Dorman, part number 799-110. I measured the Dormans with my micrometer and they match almost (+/- 1/32") exactly with the ones I mentioned earlier.

Summit has the same rivets for only $2.55 a pack but you got to pay S&H.

Happy, happy, happy.
