New Hemi has too much oil?

Default New Hemi has too much oil?

Just so happened to check dipstick in my DD. Oil is 3/8" over the top dot. What's with that? SHould I drain some out?

In the garage.....about as level as it gets. Wondering if some of the "smoking issues" with hemi's are due to this.

Mine "used" a quart the first 1000 miles added a quart and she hasn't used anymore. I'm at 3300 today. Followed break in till 300 miles and then still took it easy to 750. Didn't tow till just about 2000.

I hope they don't overfill them in anticipation of oil consumption during break-in. Anyone else notice their dipstick level a bit high?

Hahaha. Look up " Hemi true oil capacity and the longest oil change in history" it's good for a laugh. Most of our trucks came with oil at the full level mark ( 7 quarts with filter according to the manual) however when you change your oil it takes approximately 7.5 qrts to fill it back up to that mark. So I guess they have got it all screwed up at the factory. Haha good times
