Spyder Headlight Interest???
Hey guys I'm currently trading in my 2012 Camaro for a 2013 RT Durango. But I have rapid fire sequential leds on my car. The guy who makes them is based out of North Carolina I believe and they are hand crafted pretty high quality stuff. He is not as big as Spyder but he may be interested in fabricating something for the D if the demand is there. His name is Todd and the site is http://cool-leds.com/ product is Technolstalgia. The price for these was 400 they sold like hot cakes on the Camaro 5 forum I frequent. Literally took 3-4 months to get because he was back logged for so long and the first batch he put out was somewhere between 1-200 people.
I had video of it on my car, I must have deleted it I cant find it now. But here it is on another guys car.

Spyder is builindg their budget for next year and may start 1st quarter of year.
Turning setup is nice but brake one looks like its jacked up and malfunctioning to me at least. Itd have to see what end result would be.

Yea some people say that it looks that way, its actually three pulses and a hold for the brakes. It's to get peoples attention in traffic. There is a switch mechanism inside the light housing to turn off the rapid fire brake illumination if you just want the traditional brakes and third light.
No you dont ship anything its just like buying aftermarket lights from oracle or spyder he takes the factory housings or cheaper if he has a supplier and adds the LEDs and circuitry and ships you the 4 units well in the Durango case 2 units. They have a one year warranty comes with install instructions etc etc the typical things you expect. I've had two sets because my car got rear ended but I've had my Camaro since Feb 2012 they got put on in May 2012 and havent had any issues other than being crashed into.
Or if anybody is super tech savvy / engineer they could build their own with Arduino. I was thinking about giving it ago this summer for something to do.

Itd be nice to do the outer tails and the inner hatch ones so theyd all be uniform. I did this exact thing on my old silverado, but it came out looking like crap bc i dont have a drill press to evenly put in the leds.
And, i dont know what kind of controller hes using the do the chasing effect or the "shimmer" thing.

Does this mean spyder is gonna produce the tails? or they're still debating it? thx for doing the leg work on this.
It seems promising that they are awaiting budget approval. Just need to keep pushing it until produced as they will sell since only replacement currently is oem. They will have the market.
