I tried 89 for a few tanks and then tried 87...MPGs were the same, mayby a little better with 87 and no knocking or pinging. I stick with 87...

The reason 87 works ok is that the PCM will retard the timing to avoid ping or
Pre detonation. That's why it is acceptable, the PCM will recognize it and adjust.
Please note that your performance does suffer slightly. Another thing to note is that if you can actually hear
Ping or knock you may have a much larger issue, just a heads up. Could be knock retard which is not good. lol

Can I get an amen?

I've been running 93 for months. Just put 87 in today and truck for sure lost power. Back to 93 next fill up.

On long trips when I tend to be on the gas more I always fill up an a injection clearner like Lucus or chevron but add the clearner 1st so when you put the gas it mixes up real good
