Default overhead light second row- can't get it back together

Removed overhead light second row to fix rattle, now can't get it back together. The white plastic piece with metal spring clips keeps slipping up above headliner when I try to clip in the light assembly. Any advice from someone who has removed the light assembly? Tried reaching through vent hole but can't reach it to hold it down...

It's been over a year since I had that light fixture out for the same reason as you. After a couple of days I was fairly sure the rattle in the headliner was corrected. Now it was time to put the light fixture back. I believe I put the fixture together first with the bezel. Next I plugged the power wire back together and double checked it to make sure the wire was clip into it's parking place. Now the fixture is ready to snap into the headliner opening. Make sure to face the map buttons to the rear of the vehicle. I can't remember which side I place in first but you should feel the fixture securely park itself. Of course the last step is to carefully put the plastic lens back into place. I hope this helps

Thanks for the tip, I didn't put the bracket and light assembly together first, once I did then it snapped right in place! The white 'fingers ' go in first for anyone else wondering that many find this thread.

Jtrees: Did your fix work? Is it now quiet? The dealer can't seem to fix it after 2 attempts.

so far so good...I searched the forum for 'overhead rattle' or 'headliner rattle'. Followed those instructions. Basically, removed light assembly, used some microfiber cloth and placed between the headliner and roof right where the headliner dips down in front of the overhead light. Once you remove light , I pushed down on headliner from inside cavity and played around with cloth placement until I didn't hear any squeak when pushing up on headliner from below. Hope this helps.
