Electronic read outs
Suffice to say that the GPS system on our 2012 Citadel must have been designed by a moron. Yet, Chrysler says that there is nothing that came be done to fix it. It is particularly annoying to try to use it while in motion, as it keeps just dropping the request.
Next, the dash read outs just do not give the necessary information without flipping between sections, and that is very dangerous. For example, I can't find a way to see Speed, Milage, and Cruise Speed while on ACC. So, if you want to keep track of the distance to a point, you can't see your speed, which isn't a problem unless your in traffic, and the vehicle slows below the set speed.
In addition to all of that, the location of that dash read out, and the speedometer and tack can't be read from the driving position.
As I have told Chrysler when I complained about the GPS, while I love the ride and comfort of the vehicle, I would never recommend it to anyone as these types of stupid fixable issues are not being addressed. It is too expensive a vehicle to have these types of annoyances.

I am not meaning to be insulting, but I don't know how else to put it. Perhaps more attention during the test drive would have solved the OP's issues.

Having used a $100 Garmin on my Liberty for years, I was expecting an in dash unit on a $58M (CDN) MSRP vehicle to have a GPS that actually worked. One would expect to be able to put in an address from a hotel confirmation, but I couldn't! However, I'm glad you feel your GPS works fine, maybe you have the Garmin model.
FST, I was told there was no way to avoid the lock on movement, would you share that as it would avoid having to use the voice activation which never seems to allow input of anything but very simple instructions. For example 7 tries to have it accept a 5 digit hotel number.

I am at the point of saying screw buying something for $300 bucks just so I can use a $2000.00 Nav unit.
I like most people did not tinker with the crappy Nav when test driving. I was more about the look of the vehicle and performance of it. After buying the D I realized that the Nav sucked and is NOT updated for FREE like my Garmin. Plus, it does not find some of the address's I have looked up in different States. My Garmin has yet to have those problems.
Buy a new Garmin Nuvi. I bought a new one before getting the D last year for my other vehicle that did not have Nav and just moved it over from the older vehicle. Mine cost $140.00 for the 2555LMT (LMT= LIFETIME Maps & Traffic updates) with a three year warranty from Staples. The "update" disk are like $100.00 each every year for the "stock" radio on the D. So you can do the math of which is better.
Wishing now I did not get the "high end" radio system. I am doing it all over this coming fall with real toys that do not need overly expensive "add ons".

Then that only solves the voice activation issues! I've been a Chrysler man since I worked for their finance arm in the early 70's, but I am so annoyed over how they have handled this issue that I'll likely look at imports in the future. As the last poster said, there were too many important things to be looking at when we test drive the unit to ever think about inexpensive equipment that has been perfected by a number of companies, it never occurred to me to play with it.
All responses to date have dealt with the GPS, does anyone know how to get the Speed, ACC setting and mileage to show on the screen at the same time, while the ACC is activated? It does show for a few seconds if you override the ACC then take your foot off the gas.
