Default 2013 Durango- Whining noise

Third time back to the dealer and they finally heard the whining noise we're hearing. It's a high pitched whine when slowing down at slower speeds and when accelerating like pulling away from a stop sign. We recently started hearing it at highway speeds. It's making the noise when not applying or releasing the brakes so it's not that. Each time it lasts like 3 - 4 seconds. I can't pinpoint where it's coming from and the dealer thinks its the rear axle differential. Anyone heard of this issue?
2013 Crew 3.6 w/12,000 miles. Thanks.

It just started recently?

I used to hear this during the snow and it was when i was going through snow to have fun lol I would bring it to the car wash or let it sit in the sun and it would melt and the sound is gone.

My 2 cents

We do have a rear end whine that can be heard at highway speeds(55k miles). Going to have the dealer replace it as long as it's covered under the power train warranty.

CPW1265 - Been doing this for quite some time, all summer and into the winter. Had the vehicle since new and I'd say it started around the 5 - 6k mile mark.
