How much is 15K miles worth?
Two cars - same year - same options. One is in the color I would prefer (gray) AND has 15000 less miles but is $4000 more than the other. So how much money is it worth to have that many less miles? Is there a common formula to figure that out? 15000 miles is a year worth of driving, so in theory the car is a year newer? What say you?
Thanks in advance.

If the one for $4000 is from a Dodge Dealer, ask them to throw in Lifetime Extended Chrysler Care which is about $2K and then who cares about the extra miles. If there is a problem you are covered on just about everything.
Two ways to look at it. Higher miles might mean that it spent more time on the road and less in the shop. Or it could be just highway miles, which are a lot easier on a vehicle. Or, someone drove the snot out of it.
How many miles on each one, other than the difference?? That matters a lot. Cars after 36,000 miles drop appreciably in value.
See if the dealer will throw in a MaxCare warranty for 5/60. Online through Ziegler, they're around 950. In order to do that cheap, vehicle has to be under the 3/36K date.
