In 2011 Popular Mechanics tested 7 crossovers in the Silver Lakes Michigan dunes. The V6 Durango won hands down. They even used it to pull out other vehicles. The article was titled "last crossover standing" I can't get my link to the article to work

I feel that the hemi is better all around. I have never driven on the beach, but I have driven on wet ground when off-roading and it did excellent. Plus the Hemi is just a beast anyways. So fun to floor whenever you get the chance
