Ha! I was wondering how long it would take for Plymouth to come up.

Also, by the new branding scheme it almost seems like the Durango should be branded as a Ram. No matter what they do, I guess it's better than calling it a Chrysler Aspen.

I got a kick out of that one, since my Dad had a 78 Dodge Aspen wagon when I was a kid. 8 track, manual tranny, vinyl seats and some nice wood applique.

Yeah, I never understood that naming idea. Naming it after either a tree or an overpriced city in Colorado for their reasoning is lost when they already used that on a previous model and it makes even less sense and terrible symbolism when that model was blamed for almost killing the company previously.

I agree it would seem as though the durango would fit under Ram. I wish they would return it the whole thing to Dodge and be done with it.

1975 Plymouth Valiant :-) one sweet but mechanically unreliable car

How about a simple grab bar on the 'a' pillar to assist someone getting into the front passenger seat.(Even the Caravan has one). The overhead fold away may work in cars but not an suv.

YES! applique' rocked back in the 60s and 70s. I still lust for those FoMoCo Country Squires.

Yeah, but my dad got a little carried away with it. The Aspen was replaced with a reliant woody wagon in 83, then with an 88 Voyager, again clad in the finest wood looking vinyl that Chrysler could locate. I'm pretty sure that if Ford would have offered wood on the 1996 Explorer, he would have done it again.

Doesn't count - the tailgate swings out not up. The glass has to be separate in that case.

It does?

Rav4

Grand Vitara

Cube

Doesn't change the utility provided by being able to have the liftgate glass open independently of the entire tailgate.

Your dad rocks. If I known him I'm sure we would've been buddies. :-)
