Looks good and seems to be a pretty straight forward mod. Just curious what this mod actually improves? HP, MPG, engine sound, looks, just what? I might consider this if increase in HP without sacrificing MPG. Just curious what improves with this mod. Thanks.

I've been thinking of that mod for several weeks now and priced out the K&N and AFE. MOPAR doesn't make one for the Durango according to my local parts guy but does make one for other V6 Chryslers, #77070042. I assumed it would work on the DD but there might be some fitment issues with the larger engine bay on the truck.
Anyway . . . . better MPG would be nice but if I go this route it'll be for the improved exhaust note.
BTW, is that filter disposable or reuseable?

Cool

Putting on a cone filter does this:

- Louder intake noise, no change to exhaust sound.
- Possibly adds a FEW horsepower.
- Reusable filter, but requires a $20 maintenance kit.
- Like most power mods, reduces the mpg because the owner gets on the throttle more and heavier.

Mopar part works on all V6 Grand cherokee and Dodge durango 2011-2014.. I installed it on my 2014, they just haven't updated the manual yet... sounds great.. really rumbles in mid range.. good pick up. just turn off econo mode at 2500-3000 in traffic gets a little torque lock ups, as it builds up.

I installed the Mopar myself took about 30-40 minutes.. only real bug is getting the vacuum hose thru the o-ring.. and cutting the engine cover to let the pipe fit. (it's in the instructions..)
Only tip not in instructions it to clean the inside of the filter with an alcohol wipe.. as there may be risidual oil on the rubber and it will slide off the pipe if not cleaned.. A little 600grite last inch of the pipe helps too.
I'll try to post a picture of it installed..
Other Mods mopar heated windshield washer, and mopar running boards..
