Default Lift Gate Interior Trim Removal

I did a quick search and couldn't find an answer, so if its been asked before, my apologies...

I need to replace a couple of bulbs on the marker lights in the lift gate... I know you need to remove the trim panels on the inside of the lift gate, and to do this you need to remove the "handle cups" on the bottom of the lift gate...

My question is:
How the eff do you get those cups out...? LOL

Thanks in advance!!!

Just pry the top edge. Worked for me. But getting the panel off without breaking the clips seems to be a challenge.

Take it to the dealer....they charged me $30 to replace both bulbs. Cheaper than you replacing what you will break doing it yourself....also less aggravation.

You have to pull the handle cups out first. They are not terribly difficult to remove but you have to be gentle with them or they will break. Then just go around the outer edge and pull and the clips will pop out. Inevitably you will break some of the clips either pulling it out or when you put it back in due to not lining up the wholes properly because there is no room to see anything.

I know how to remove interior panels, I've been doing custom stereo installs and emergency vehicle installs for years now... I've just never come across these "cups" before and can't find a way to get them out... Do they just pull out, or are they affixed somehow...?

Thanks but that doesn't help... My interior trim panel wraps down and the cups go through the bottom of the panel... I need to remove the cups in order to remove the panel...

I'll have to look at it again on my days off, but It looks like the cups are a part of whats holding the trim on...

Seriously- pry the top edge down. It works.
