DO NOT USE A USB STICK. It has a greater chance of an error due to USB reset and if you get an error during critical parts of the update, it will brick your radio. Some have done it successfully, but others now have bricks, which don't play music well.

Your problem might be that you just did a data copy to the DVD, rather than burning it as an ISO. Needs to be an ISO.

Oh - and be sure that when updating from DVD that nothing is plugged into either of the USB ports.

St. Char,
bbtkd is probably correct, I found this out the hard way also. After wasting 3 DVD's I figured out that I was burning a "data file" onto the disk like in a folder, and you have to burn it to the DVD as an "image" for it to work, other wise it just says "Data" like you mentioned.

I was able to burn the RHR file to DVD and it worked as advertised. But I'm having trouble with the Gracenotes update. There are 3 files in the folder 5411, 5412 and 5414. Are these for D years of 2011, 2012 and 2014 or are they just the last 3 updates? I have tried 5412 and 5414 and burned them to DVD at a nice slow speed but they just give me an error when I try to load them. I think the error was something like "not the correct software"??? Anyway ... any advice on how to get the update installed.

Lynn,
These are for 3 different systems, the 5411 is the latest for the RHR.

I used it all weekend amd did not notice any changes. It may be a little quicker when selecting things (between screens for example), or I may just be imagining it. I have not noticed any problems with it though either, so why not update, its easy enough.

Thanks Trace3rd. Is that stated somewhere, I must have missed that.

Also, is there something that describes what the changes were for the RHR 2.6 software. I looks like the history info hasn't been updated for quite a while.
