Nav maps update
Got a notice that I can update my 2012 maps for a mere $149. I bought an entire GPS with lifetime updates for less than that.
So has anybody updated and is it worth $149?

Not to me. I have a Garmin I use now. I found the dash Nav SUCKED SUCKED SUCKED anyways. Besides we cannot type address in while driving which is 100% completely stupid. That and the fact they want $150 for more ****ty mapping is just crazy.
Can't even have the passenger run it. I have muddled by with it, but soon will go back to a Garmin with lifetime updates.
Unless they make it a Garmin with lifetime updates, no. The interface to the Dodge nav is clunky and unintuitive to anyone who has used a Garmin or TomTom - and the high price for updates is a non-starter for me. Perhaps if the dealer offered to throw in map updates then one might be willing to suffer with the interface.
I have a '14 R/T and my Navi sucks. It is the dumbest navigation system I have ever used. I was counting on having a navi system that worked because I am directionally challenged. This is one of many of my sore spots with my Durango.

The earlier nav in the 730 radio was terrible. But if you were lucky enough to have a 430 radio then the nav unit was a Garmin, and top notch (though you still had to pay for map updates if you wanted them). I now have a '14 and the nav is better than the old 730, but still not as good as the best Garmins.
When I complained to Chrysler, they told me the nav system was working properly. It is a real danger when you try to input anything while driving. The voice activation starts out as frustrating, then just gets obnoxiously obtuse, then just drops the request. The 9 year old $99 Garmin we use in our Jeep & Motor Home works better.
