Default Side view mirror issue - no up/down

2012 Citadel here, the up or down movement of my passenger side mirror is not working. First noticed in reverse when the mirror usually tilts down.

Anyone else have this issue?

If you can hear the motor running while operating the switch in the up/down position then the nylon gears may have stripped or fallen off track internally. Up and down are on the same track essentially as left and right. If the motor sound is not present in up/down but is in right/left you may have a burned out motor or wiring issue. I don't believe it's in the switch since it doesn't operate even when you reverse. Did the mirror get manually pushed? Like while washing it?

Not sure how it happened. I don't remember pushing it.

The motor works left/right but up/down is nothing and there is no sound either.

I guess it's off to the dealer (out of warranty) and pay for a diagnosis.

Let's just hope it's an electrical connection bro, they tend to just replace the whole mirror rather than tear it apart. Good luck

User2119,

I'm sorry to hear about your recent mirror issue.

In some cases, if a substance develops on the mirror select switch, it can cause the switch to become stuck in the pushed position. With the left/right still functioning, perhaps a loose connection is present for the up/down. Your dealer will certainly be able to pinpoint the root cause. Be sure to speak with the Service Manager.

Mine just stopped working. Goes left and right but not up and down. Any more ideas on th problem or how to fix besides a trip to the dealer?
