I replaced my batt about two months ago and I am getting batt low messages every now and then, so I removed the batt and checked it and it has 3.3 DCV. The batt say's 3.0V on it so my batt is good. I read the manuel and there is a sentance that say's to not touch the batt with your fingers and if you do clean it with rubbing alcohol. Well it's almost impossiable to install a batt with out touching it but anyhow do you guys think that might be the problem with premature batt failuer ??
When you handle button batteries just use a kleenex, but be sure you don't catch a piece between the battery and the contact. Skin oil can accelerate corrosion. It could be your problem - take it out and check. Not sure you'd need alcohol, just use a kleenex to clean it.

After I installed a new batt I was still getting a "Key Batt Low" message so I removed the new batt and cleaned all the contacts and the batt with a new eraser then wiped them all clean with Kleenex and so far so good.

The next day I got the Low Battery message again, and I looked at my wife and asked if she had her key fob in her purse, to which she replied "of course". Off to the dollar store, 3 batteries for a dollar, and the message dissapeared.
