not sure if they did a bad finish in front of the hood scoop, looks like brush applied black gel coat finish. awaiting reply from doubled about the finish by the hood scoop area. Some minor blemishes here and there on the hood as well, has me thinking this might be a factory second.

looks great! did you have it painted? if you did, how much did it cost to paint it? I know the price from DD Mods...just wanted to know how much it ocst to be painted an installed?

I understand that carbon fiber comes ready to bolt on, but it looks like this one was painted to match the color of the Durango...just curious what someone might pay or has paid to have it painted to match

i just discovered this yesterday that they (RKsports) added the paint in a bad attempt to hide a defect underneath the paint. They told me that it was overspray and to remove it with acetone. I removed the top area with acetone to find that they screwed up the layer underneath the clearcoat, and tried to hide it with paint on top hoping i'd never wonder why.
Working on a exchange now.

think bodyshops charge ~$500 for a painted hood to match the car. The fiberglass hoods are much cheaper then the carbonfiber top that i received as well.

thats the top lip after removing the paint with acetone. If you looked at the prior pictures, you can see that they purposely applied more paint then necessary for the surrounds to mask this area. I haven't removed any other paint yet, but i'd imagine it looks pretty bad for them to apply paint on the outside.

That's some bull**** right there.

I was considering buying a fiberglass hood from them.

Won't now.

I was wondering about their quality with the way the hood lined up with the fender.

This issue is much less forgivable.

I mean i don't know how RK sports will reply yet. It might be 1 guy that did this to the hood and was afraid of losing some part of his paycheck and did this to cover it up. Will know more when i hear back from them. For $1279 shipped, i surely wasn't expecting something like this.
