Talking Project Small LED BARs

Hey ya all,

I have a 2011 durango and am working on a few projects.

Project 1 was adding more lights. I run a security company here in town (we have been around for 30yrs), I use my durango as my patrol car. Not the best of idea's. I should be using a prius but meh.

So enough about me. Project Small part 1 has finished. Here it is. I will get more pics latter.

The lights are these from amazon

they are okay I wish they were brighter but hey they work for the space I had. I used this relay

. It was a lot nicer switch. I then went down to fry's and got a small project box to put the switch in. I will post pics on that latter.

What I did is got a thin metal pate and had a friend drill 4 holes on my metal plate. Then welded that metal plate to the bars in front of the radiator where the 2 beams do this /\ (I'll get pics tomorrow don't worry), So now it makes an A /-\. Then I mounted the lights on to that plate. I am not happy how I wired them. Kinda messy. I will fix that with my next project. Project Fuse box. I am going to install a second fuse panel for the lights and such. Safer that way and easier to fix if something goes wrong. I don't have any night pics I will get some tomorrow.

Wiring. I went from the vehicle's fuse box's positive to the relay (relay has it's own fuse), then to my lights. I just grounded the lights to a screw on the frame That will change on my next project. Okay enough talk. Here it is.

Sorry if the pics are to big. I made them smaller in the message area but they aren't carrying over. if a mod wants to fix them go ahead.
