Default Where to get switched power?

I've tried searching but had no luck.
I am installing a remote radar detector in my 2014 Durango. Where are you guys tapping for the switched power? I want the detector to go off when the ignition is off.
I noticed the front power plug outlet is switched in the console - you guys pull switched power from that?

The front (lighter) plug is switched as you say - the rear one by the 3rd row can be either switched or hot. I'm not sure of the voltage input of the detector so don't just tap into 12v straight if it's supposed to be stepped down to 3.5v by the plug-in adapter.

If that is not of concern, then a vampire tap behind the console/under the dash should be fine.

Can you provide the specific model of detector. Requiring a full 12v input seems too high. All vehicle DC supply will be 12v, but usually the plug-in adapter reduces it. Sometimes it isn't as easy as removing the plug and tapping power. Don't want you to burn up your new detector.

i think most if not all detectors run on 12v. Can you find one that isnt?
I know the Escorts are 12V as are the Valentines, and probably some others.

I went the super easy route, i used a mirror tap into my mirror hah.
