Default remote start and air conditioning

I have a 2013 crew hemi with 50k and I love it. I was wondering if it is normal that the air conditioning does not come on with the remote start. I have the comfort start setting on in the evic and the rear defroster and heated seat come on but in the summer the ac isn't on. The air will be blowing when I open the door but it's not cool air. And in the winter the defroster will be blowing high but doesn't really work well on foggy windows since the ac isn't coming on. I just wanted to see if this was something normal or not. Thanks in advance for your comments.

Does anyone know if this would be covered by my maxcare service contract?
