Default Rear Camera Options

I have a 2013 SXT with the 430 (non-Nav) radio, I want to add in a rear view camera. I called one dealer and he told me it wasn't possible w/ the radio I have and that my only (dealer installed) option was to get the rearview mirror camera kit.

Just to make sure, I called another dealer - he said the same thing as far as not being able to use my current radio but said if I went the replacement mirror route I'd lose bluetooth functionality. Does anyone know if this is the case and if so - are there any alternatives?

I'm a little disappointed that I can't use the 430 radio - When I bought it I thought it was compatible (the truck came stock with the 130 radio, I bought this one for my '12 Durango and moved it over when I got the '13). I could always upgrade to the 430N radio but then this rear camera is going to cost well over a grand and I'm not sure that its worth it.

I'd like to go with a dealer installed camera kit instead of going somewhere else - I have the Mopar lifetime warranty and I don't like to screw with using anything that potentially may cause issues. In my last Durango I had a hitch installed and they screwed up the wiring and anytime I had an issue that should have been covered by warranty they always gave me a hard time and pointed to that, so its authorized dealers only for me.

ROFLMAO.

Go get a new head unit (Double Din in size) and have a camera installed in the back. If you are handy with car audio, do it yourself. It really is not that hard to do, and any reputable audio shop (Take your time and look) can take care of you far cheaper. Installing a new radio and camera is not going to void your warranty.

Where are you located? Maybe someone from your area can point you in the right direction for a stereo shop, NOT the way over priced and full of scare tactics of the dealership. IMO

Happy hunting.
