Yeah, it came asymmetrical. It was designed to go on the outside of a special edition Challenger, I believe, on the front quarter panel. I found it online, and they showed it on a white vehicle, so the shape wasn't too noticeable.

I picked them up on EBay. They are intended to cover electrical wires, but worked well. Similar to the black abrasion shields that Dodge put on some of the hoses. Here is the link to where I picked it up. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321179508984?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Can you please answer few of my questions? i want to order so have to ask)
1) You have used it for some time already, so how is it by time?
2) Does it look too obvious, it is not stock?
3) I was checking the kit on carid.com and wanted to order red/black carbon as you did, but on the preview the r/b carbon looks very different than on your photos. What's the catch?)
4) Have you seen the preview materials in shop or order online? i ask because i'm interested in how the simple red and the aluminium would look.

Unfortunately you are the only one i could find on the web, who already installed the kit))) So please help me by answering the questions above))) Thanks in advance!

Happy to help. 1) Yes, it is good quality, and still looks great. Very durable. 2) It clearly is not stock, as it is thicker than I would like, but it's ok. 3) I can't explain the color difference on the website versus my photos, other than taken by different people and lighting. I like it, as it breaks up the all black interior. 4) Call CarID and see if they have sample pieces they can send you to check color.

If I were doing it again, I probably wouldn't use ALL the pieces. It's almost too much, but I'm afraid to try to take some parts back off. Maybe a heat gun? Hope that helps

A new question my friend)))
Is that Volant CAI installed on your D?
Please advise how is it? Efficient? What about sound?
Better than other brands?

Yes, it is a Volant. I modified it by painting the top and installing hex bolts to look like a separate cover. The box is actually all one piece, and needs to be taken out to service the filter, which is no big deal. No idea of it is better than other brands, but I like the fact that it routes to the existing cold intake vent hole on the front. I bought the one with the Donaldson filter that supposedly breathes even better and doesn't need to be serviced for 75,000 miles. I suspect it is similar to all the other quality CAI like Mopar, AFe, etc... so it boils down to preference, as long as you buy quality. It did make the engine sound a bit nicer; more growl on throttle down. The Hypertech made a pretty big difference in that department too.
