Default This is progress...

I saw on facebook someone was posting a link to a vintage motorweek review of the 1980's G body cars, including the old rear drive monte carlo platform. I used to own a 78 Monte Carlo, and have always loved them. If I ever run across one in decent shape I would buy it in a heartbeat (assuming my wife wouldn't have a fit).

Vintage review:

The 0-60 and 1/4 mile times in the video caught my attention though. For a car that was "fast" back in the day, the v6 Durango of today (I own a 2012 and don't think of it as fast) is quicker.

Well, these results are the 2014 D, which I know with the new tranny are better than my 2012, but still this is interesting. Progress is a good thing. I'd also hazard a guess that the mpg is better on the D as well. http://www.edmunds.com/dodge/durango...est-specs.html
